A man who stopped to help an ill customer in an Asda supermarket in Hulme, Manchester, had his own phone stolen during the incident.
Theft at Asda on Princess Road
Police were called to reports of a theft at the Asda on Princess Road on Tuesday, July 21. The victim had been assisting another customer who was suffering from a 'medical episode' inside the store. He left his mobile phone on a windowsill while he offered help, and the phone was then taken.
Police appeal with images
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) released an appeal on August 10, sharing two pictures of a woman they believe can 'help with enquiries'. Officers urged anyone who recognises her or has information to come forward.
In a post on GMP's Facebook page, a force spokesperson said: "#APPEAL | We would like to speak with this person as we believe she can help us with our enquiries into theft of a mobile phone at Asda on Princess Road, Manchester, at around 4pm on Tuesday 21 July."
"It was reported that while the victim was helping another customer, who was suffering from a medical episode, he had left his phone on the windowsill which was then taken."
