Marco Pierre White Jr, the son of renowned chef Marco Pierre White, has been sentenced to three years and ten months in prison for a series of burglaries and thefts. The 33-year-old former Big Brother contestant appeared via video link at Isleworth Crown Court on Thursday, where Judge Edwards Connell handed down the sentence.
White Jr had pleaded guilty to four counts of burglary, one count of criminal damage, and several theft charges in August. The spree took place across west London and Bath, involving items including £1,500 worth of Jellycat plush toys, £13,600 in fluorite crystal lamp towers, and £7,775 in natural rock crystal formations. He also stole £1,331 of hygiene products from an Aesop store, where he threatened a female employee.
The judge described White Jr as a “prolific acquisitive offender” with an “appalling record for dishonesty”. He noted that White Jr was subject to two suspended sentences at the time of the offences, which he breached. The court heard that the thefts were driven by a long-standing drug addiction, with his barrister stating he stole “to obtain funds to maintain his habit”. The treatment centre that had been supporting him had suddenly closed.
White Jr also caused £27,000 of damage during a break-in at a west London gallery. He often used a Lime Bike to escape after committing the crimes. The sentence includes 25 weeks from the activated suspended sentences, served consecutively to the three years and five months for the new offences. White Jr was absent when the sentence was read, having returned to his cell while the judge adjourned.
