Liverpool FC and Merseyside Police have confiscated more than £1.2 million from organised ticket touts, with further Proceeds of Crime Act cases still ongoing.
Lifetime bans and suspensions issued
The club has issued 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions to supporters caught breaching ticketing rules, mainly through the unauthorised sale of season tickets, memberships and hospitality tickets.
Fake accounts and cancelled tickets
Liverpool analysed almost 700,000 ticket registrations last season, identifying nearly 68,000 fake accounts, while a further 121,000 accounts remain under investigation. The club cancelled 3,847 tickets over suspicious purchases and reported a 33% increase in burner phones being seized or refused entry after being used to distribute tickets illegally.
Increased stop checks
Liverpool increased stop checks around Anfield, averaging 300 targeted stops before every home game, alongside checks at away matches to identify suspicious ticket activity.
Warning to fans
Liverpool FC has urged fans not to buy tickets from unofficial sellers, warning that more than nine in 10 tickets listed on unofficial resale sites either do not exist or have been sold multiple times, risking supporters being refused entry.
