A 49-year-old man has died and two others were injured in a triple stabbing in Uxbridge, west London. The incident occurred on Monday at 5pm in Midhurst Gardens, where a row reportedly broke out at a house.
The deceased, named locally as Wayne Broadhurst, was believed to be walking a dog past the property when he was stabbed. Two other males, aged 45 and 14, believed to be father and son, were also stabbed. The older man suffered life-changing injuries, while the boy's injuries were not life-threatening.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Police used a Taser to detain him after he was seen holding a knife. The suspect, an Afghan national, arrived in the UK in 2020 and was granted asylum in 2022, according to government sources.
Detectives are not treating the attack as terrorism and are investigating the relationship between the suspect and victims. Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall described it as a 'shocking and senseless act of violence' and assured the community that officers would remain in the area to provide reassurance.
Local residents expressed shock, with one saying the street had always been family-oriented, and another noting that the community was 'really panicked'. The Metropolitan Police have asked the public not to share sensitive footage online.
