A couple in Florida were left stunned after discovering $600 (£445) in cash hidden inside a dresser they bought from a thrift shop. The find was shared on TikTok by Heirloom House, a furniture restoration studio based in Jacksonville.
The video shows the couple shining a torch into the back of the dresser, where they spotted a bundle of banknotes wedged between two pieces of wood. Using a screwdriver, they carefully extracted the stash, which included ten $50 notes and one $100 bill.
Upon counting the money, the man exclaims: '600 bucks baby! They're all old, man.' His wife adds: 'This is insane.' The couple also discovered a gold-coloured coin in a plastic case, which they believe is a Chinese good luck charm.
In a follow-up video, the woman revealed that all but one of the notes dated from between 1963 and 1969, with one dating back to 1950. The dates refer to the design series, not the printing year.
The discovery has sparked excitement online, with many commenters urging the couple to have the bills valued. One wrote: 'Bring to a coin shop. They will help you to preserve and value your bills. Probably worth more than face value.' Another added: 'That $600 back when it was hidden was probably like $6,000.'
