Jeremy Clarkson has been left 'upset' after 11 of his sheep were reportedly stolen from his Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire, with police now investigating the theft from the Clarkson's Farm filming location.
The former Top Gear host, 66, discovered the animals were missing after counting his flock alongside his trusted friend and co-star Kaleb Cooper.
Clarkson's emotional response
A visibly shaken Clarkson said: "It's upset me . . . you can't ever form a bond with a sheep. Anyone who has anything stolen, it's awful, but to have animals stolen, it's really galling. They were happy here. This is my favourite field on the farm."
Clarkson wasted no time in sending a blunt message to the culprits, warning: "Put them back."
Police involvement and breed details
Speaking to The Sun about his dealings with the authorities, Clarkson said: "The police have been very good, actually. Once you go through 700 hours of recorded messages, I got through to a girl.
I said: 'I know it's going to sound like I'm from 1856, but I've had some sheep stolen'.
"She went through the name and address and then she said: 'Oh, not your Easycares'. She's obviously been watching the show, but it is the Easycares.", reports the Daily Star.
The Easycares are a low-maintenance breed that require no shearing and "require minimal shepherding and veterinary care".
Final warning and financial loss
Clarkson issued a stark final warning to the thieves: "Put them back. It's a farm. We're armed. Just so they know. It p***** me off. Honestly, it just p***** me off."
Jeremy claims he has no idea when this occurred, believing there are "some missing from the other field a mile or so away" and that "nobody else has got Easycares."
He had recently sold 24 of them at market for £205, meaning the disappearance of his 11 sheep represents a staggering £2,000 loss. Clarkson observed that Diddly Squat "has a film crew here all the time" and "a drone in the air," leading him to suspect the sheep were taken "on a day or night when they weren't filming".
