A heartbroken community in Kansas City is reeling after an 11-year-old boy was shot and killed in a tragic case of mistaken identity. The child, named as Audrii Cunningham, was allegedly gunned down by a homeowner after he accidentally approached the wrong address.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when the young boy was trying to meet friends. In a simple, fatal error, he knocked on the door of a house on his own street, not realising his friends lived next door.
Instead of being met by his pals, the homeowner, 65-year-old Andrew D. Ross, is alleged to have opened fire through the glass door of his property. The young boy was struck and tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
