The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs was left shaken after burglars broke into her £1.7 million home while she was on holiday with her husband Billy Delbosq, 43, and their children. The ITV star returned to find the property "completely trashed," making her the latest celebrity victim after Megan McKenna and Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright's homes were also targeted.
Representative confirms burglary
A representative for Amy confirmed the incident, telling The Sun: "Amy and her family returned from holiday to find that thieves had broken into her home and completely trashed the place. She's absolutely heartbroken. She is just grateful that she and the kids were away when it happened, because it would have been terrifying if they had been there when the burglars came."
The representative added: "She can't even bear to think about that but it's still left her shaken. At the moment, she isn't sure exactly what's been taken as the place is totally wrecked and police have been there along with forensics. It's a total nightmare and really freaked her out."
Police investigation underway
Police have been in touch, and no one was hurt. Amy's representative also told the Daily Express: "She doesn't want to comment too much. They are devastated but thank god everyone is ok."
Megan McKenna's ordeal
The incident follows former TOWIE star Megan McKenna's UK home being broken into by machete-wielding intruders. The 33-year-old admitted this was why she moved to Germany, speaking on the Great Company With Jamie Laing podcast on Tuesday.
She said: "I don't talk about this with a lot of people because I was worried and scared at the time because people were in prison for it, and when there was a trial going on, so I wasn't able to talk about it." She added: "I was robbed really badly in my own home. It scared me so much to be in the UK, and to live in the UK on my own because obviously Ollie is in Germany."
Megan recounted that one of the burglars grabbed her hand and took jewellery, and she ended up cutting her foot. She said: "There was blood everywhere. It was like a bloody murder scene, and then I'm standing naked, and they just left with nothing, with nothing else."
