A public enquiry will be held into the Heaton Park synagogue terror attack, the Home Secretary has announced today (October 12).
Shabana Mahmood said the enquiry will examine the deaths of Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby, two worshippers at the synagogue who were killed in the attack on Yom Kippur on October 2 last year.
Attack details
Jihad Al-Shamie drove at individuals outside the synagogue in his car and attacked members of the public with a knife, including Melvin Cravitz, who died of his injuries.
Al-Shamie was shot dead by armed police at the scene. A deflected bullet fired by armed police also struck Adrian Daulby, who was inside the synagogue and barricading the door to prevent Al-Shamie from getting in.
