British Transport Police have launched an appeal after two women were allegedly sexually assaulted at London Bridge station while queuing to play the station's famous Victorian pipe organ. The incident occurred around 11pm on Saturday, May 30.
Suspect Description
According to police, a man approached the women and began speaking to them before proceeding to harass and sexually assault them. Officers have released images of a man they believe can assist with the investigation. He is described as having a northern accent, possibly from northeast England, and was wearing grey Nike shorts, white trainers, and has tattoos on his right arm and left hand.
Appeal for Information
Anyone who recognises the man is urged to text British Transport Police on 61016 or call 0800405040, quoting reference 818 of June 3. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers. The police are keen to identify the suspect and bring him to justice.
The London Bridge Organ
The organ, popularly known as Henry after its designer Henry Jones, was originally commissioned for Christ Church in Whetstone. It was relocated to London Bridge station in 2022 following a campaign by the charity Pipe Up for Pipe Organs after the church closed in 2020. The instrument has become a popular attraction at the busy transport hub.
