A 45-year-old woman has avoided an immediate jail sentence for a sexual offence against a teenage boy. Lisca Wilmott, of The Green, Runhall, was handed a two-year suspended prison sentence at Norwich Crown Court on Monday, August 3, 2026, after pleading guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a boy.
Incident details
The offence took place in the summer of 2023, when the boy visited Wilmott's home. He reported the incident to school staff in September 2023, and Wilmott was arrested the following month. She initially denied the charge but later changed her plea.
Sentence and impact
In addition to the suspended sentence, Wilmott was issued with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders' Register. The victim told the court he felt violated and that Wilmott stole his teenage years.
In a statement read in court, he said: "I was enjoying life, socialising and seeing friends. This was all taken from me by Willmott. I had to grow up very quickly after it happened. Prior to the incident I never had any anxiety but after I struggled to lead a normal life. When I look back, I feel used and violated. Wilmott stole my teenage years from me. I had to grow up quickly to deal with the issues she caused in my life and I will never get that back."
Police response
Investigating officer, detective constable Paul McCormack, said: "I would like to thank the victim for the strength and courage he has shown throughout this investigation. We take sexual offences against children extremely seriously, regardless of when the offence occurred, and we will pursue every opportunity to bring offenders before the courts."
