A 39-year-old woman is accused of raping her own mother before allegedly attempting to sexually assault her again the following day in front of her seven-year-old daughter. The woman is facing trial over the alleged attack on her mother, as well as a separate rape accusation involving a 22-year-old student.
Already serving 19-year sentence
She is already serving a 19-year prison sentence after being convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in 2020. Prosecutors said the alleged attack on her mother happened just months before the kidnapping.
On February 7, the woman allegedly used physical violence to sexually assault her mother at their apartment in Thessaloniki, Greece. The following day, she allegedly tried to assault her mother again, this time in front of her young daughter.
Mother fought off alleged attacker
Her mother reportedly managed to fight her off and struck her before alerting police. Prosecutors allege the 39-year-old then fled the scene to avoid arrest.
The woman is also standing trial over the alleged rape of a 22-year-old student, which is said to have happened just 10 days before she kidnapped and sexually assaulted the young girl in 2020.
Sedatives allegedly used in drink
According to court documents, the student was allegedly given sedatives in a drink before being sexually assaulted at the same apartment in Thessaloniki. The alleged victim went to the bathroom after drinking it, where the rape is said to have taken place.
The 39-year-old has been charged with domestic rape, rape and sexual acts against a minor.
