Two men have been arrested in Hyderabad, India, following the alleged abduction and gang rape of a 43-year-old woman from a bus stop on Monday, July 6. The victim was reportedly hoping to participate in a television show to discuss marital issues when she was approached by an unknown man at the bus stop after arriving by train.

Details of the Attack

The man asked where she was going and claimed to know someone involved in the show. He allegedly insisted he could arrange an interview and take her to the office, but instead took her to his home. There, he reportedly raped her before a second man arrived and also attacked the victim.

According to The New Indian Express, the attack occurred in a secluded building in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana state. The woman managed to escape and reported the incident to local police.

Arrests and Investigation

Local media reported that the woman screamed for help after the attack, prompting the suspects to flee on a bike. She reached the local police station and filed a statement. The two suspects have been arrested and remanded in custody pending a court appearance.

Inspector Ravi Kumar, who is leading the investigation, confirmed a detailed investigation is underway and is appealing to the public for information. Police are examining evidence from the day of the attack.
