Two Teenagers Stabbed in Brawl at Heswall Bus Station

Two teenage boys have been stabbed in a mass brawl involving a large crowd of youths at Heswall Bus Station on Merseyside. Emergency services were called to the scene on Telegraph Road at around 6:35pm on Saturday, July 4, following reports of a stabbing.

Injuries and Arrests

Merseyside Police officers found two teenage boys with injuries consistent with a bladed weapon. One suffered a chest injury, while the other sustained a finger wound. Both were taken to hospital for assessment; their injuries are not considered life-threatening. Two teenage boys, believed to be between 15 and 17 years old, have been arrested and taken into custody for questioning. Detectives are still establishing their details, a police spokesperson said.

Witness Account

A man sitting outside the Jonny Pye pub on Pye Road, behind the bus station, told the ECHO he saw a "large group of kids" get off buses before attacking each other. He said: "I believe they're two groups, one from Neston and one from Liverpool. This was the meeting spot in the middle and then they have just attacked each other. There were a good few of them fighting and then they just ran off."

Police Appeal

Detective Inspector Steve Wilkinson said: "We understand the concern that such an incident will cause, especially given the ages of those involved and the busy area in which this occurred. The possession of bladed weapons can and does cause devastation in our communities so despite these arrests, will be relentlessly pursuing all of those we suspect of having an involvement. Additionally, people who associate with those who carry weapons are putting themselves in danger, and need to tell us what they know."

Heswall Bus Station remains cordoned off, with several police vehicles at the scene. Officers are conducting witness, CCTV, and forensic work. A police spokesperson added: "Anyone with information should contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X or Facebook @MerPolCC. You can also report information via our website: https://www.merseyside.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/ or by calling 101 quoting incident reference 26000537879.
