Teen Sexually Assaulted in Coatbridge, Police Hunt Attacker

Police in Coatbridge are searching for a man after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a lane near Auldhame Street and Blair Road in the early hours of Sunday, June 28. The attack occurred at around 1am as the teenager was walking through the area.

Details of the Attack

The victim was approached by a man who then sexually assaulted her. The suspect is described as white, with dark hair, and was wearing a padded jacket and dark trousers at the time of the incident. Police have launched an investigation and a police presence is expected to remain in the area as inquiries continue.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Sergeant Jo McCall said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and it’s imperative we identify the man responsible. I would urge anyone with any information to come forward and assist our investigation. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”
