A 19-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed near a Wetherspoon pub in Oldbury, West Midlands. Emergency services were called to Market Street at 12:15pm on Thursday, July 2, following reports of an altercation between a group of teenagers.
Police Cordon and Investigation
West Midlands Police have established a large cordon around the scene, and Church Street remains closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area. Officers are conducting forensic examinations and reviewing CCTV footage to identify suspects.
Detective Inspector Jim Edmonds, leading the investigation, said: “This is a serious incident that has left a young man fighting for his life. We are doing everything we can to find those responsible and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Witness Appeal
Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the Market Street or Church Street area around midday on July 2 and saw the altercation or the suspects fleeing. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage.
