Showjumper and Horse Rider Convicted of Sexual Activity with Underage Girl

A showjumper and a horse rider have been found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl after a trial at Cardiff Crown Court. Guy Simmonds, 37, and Lauren Jarvis, 26, were convicted of one count each of sexual activity with a child following an incident in 2024.

The court heard that the pair forced the girl into a 'so-called threesome' at Jarvis's home. Prosecutor James Hartson said there were 'clear elements of grooming' by Simmonds and that text messages showed the defendants agreeing to a 'pact of silence'. Simmonds had denied any sexual contact with the complainant, claiming messages were 'banter and a wind up'.

Simmonds, who ran a riding school in Undy, Monmouthshire, was remanded in custody. Jarvis, of Newport, was granted bail. They are due to be sentenced on September 29.
