Sexual Assault Probe After Woman Attacked in Coatbridge

Detectives have launched an investigation following the sexual assault of a 17-year-old woman in Coatbridge, with police appealing for dash cam or private CCTV footage.

Incident Details

Around 1am on Sunday, June 28, the victim was walking on a lane near Blair Road and Auldhame Street when she was approached by a man. The suspect is described as white, with dark hair, and was wearing a padded jacket and dark trousers.

Police Response

Enquiries are ongoing and an increased police presence will remain in the area. Detective Sergeant Jo McCall said: “This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim and it’s imperative we identify the man responsible. I would urge anyone with any information to come forward and assist our investigation. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”
