Police have launched an investigation after a 15-year-old girl was raped at a football pitch in Oban. The attack occurred on Glenvista Mossfield Avenue at around 11.15pm on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Investigation under way
Officers from Police Scotland responded to the report of a serious sexual assault. A cordon has been put in place as forensic teams examine the scene. Police say inquiries are ongoing and officers will remain in the area for the foreseeable future.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.15pm on Saturday, 25 July, 2026, we received a report of the serious sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl on Glenvista Mossfield Avenue, Oban. Enquiries are ongoing and officers will remain in the area.”
