Police in Poland have discovered three dead infants in the home of Piotr Gierasik, 54, in Czerniki, but locals believe more bodies may be hidden. Gierasik and his daughter Paulina, 20, have been arrested on charges of murder and incest.
Officers found two babies wrapped in plastic and buried in shallow graves during a raid last Friday, with a third body discovered a day later in an advanced state of decomposition. The remains were located in the basement, which had no flooring and exposed pipes.
Prosecutors allege that at least two of the children were the result of an incestuous relationship between Gierasik and Paulina. The third child is believed to have been fathered by Gierasik with another daughter.
A woman close to the family told local media that one of Gierasik's daughters gave birth to twins about two to three years ago, and their whereabouts are unknown. She claimed Gierasik took the daughter to a distant province for the birth, raising suspicions.
Police continue to search the property for additional remains. The case has shocked the local community and drawn widespread media attention.
