South Yorkshire Police have released CCTV footage after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man on the streets of Sheffield. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, June 20, at 2am, while the woman was standing on Carver Street in the city centre.
Police said: "Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to identify the man in the CCTV images as he may be able to assist with our investigation. The male is described as 6ft tall, aged 20-30, with black hair and wearing a black t-shirt with a reflective strip on the back."
Appeal for Information
Officers have urged anyone who recognises the man to contact them via online live chat, their online portal, or by calling 101, quoting investigation number 14/110352/26. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
Other Recent Incidents in Sheffield
In June, on a separate occasion, Yorkshire Police also shared CCTV footage of another man following a call at about 17:25 BST on June 18 that a teenage girl had been raped near Cat Lane in Gleadless Valley.
In another case, a shop worker who groomed and trafficked seven girls aged between 12 and 16 for sexual abuse was sentenced to 29 years imprisonment at Sheffield Crown Court in June. Bawan Harwe, 28, messaged his victims on social media under a fake name, offering them money and e-cigarettes to win their trust, before raping and abusing them.
