Aaron Bond, a private investigator with 15 years of experience, has shared the most common indicators that a partner may be unfaithful. Bond, who has handled numerous cases of suspected adultery, warns that sudden changes in behaviour can be a red flag.
One surprising sign is an increase in attentiveness. Bond explains that a sudden surge in affection, whether emotional or physical, may be a tactic to cover up cheating. 'A relationship doesn't seem to have that spark anymore and then all of a sudden it does,' he said. 'In my experience it's often used to cover up their tracks.'
Another indicator is the use of separate accounts or devices. Bond notes that cheaters often create additional email accounts, social media profiles, or even phone numbers to hide communications. This may manifest as defensiveness around their phone, such as shielding the screen or being cautious about opening certain apps.
Changes in work patterns can also be suspicious. Bond advises looking for a pattern of staying late or working away from home that is out of the ordinary. 'Deceitful people will use the ruse of work to cover up their cheating tracks simply because it's hard to prove otherwise,' he said.
Finally, unusual cash withdrawals may indicate infidelity. Bond explains that while using cash is not inherently suspicious, an increase in cash withdrawals from a joint account could be a sign that a partner is hiding expenses related to an affair. 'If you see more cash withdrawals than usual then it's a sign that your partner is hiding something,' he added.
