A depraved paedophile who subjected six children to a horrific campaign of rape and sexual abuse has been caged for 22 years. Wayne Little, 44, was described as a 'significant risk' to the public as he was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court.
A Trail of Destruction
Little's reign of terror, which spanned several years, finally came to an end when his victims found the courage to come forward. The court heard harrowing details of the systematic abuse he inflicted on the vulnerable youngsters.
Detective Inspector James Mahon, from West Midlands Police, praised the bravery of the victims, stating their evidence was crucial in putting a dangerous predator behind bars. "This has been an incredibly complex and sensitive investigation," Mahon said. "The courage shown by the victims and their families cannot be overstated."
Justice Served at Birmingham Crown Court
Appearing before Judge Simon Drew KC, Little, of no fixed address, was handed an extended sentence of 22 years in prison. This includes a custodial term of 18 years followed by an extended licence period of four years.
The judge emphasised the profound psychological harm caused by Little's actions, noting the lasting impact on the young victims. He stated that the extended sentence was necessary to protect the public from the significant danger Little poses.
A Warning to Predators
This case sends a stark message that those who prey on children will be pursued relentlessly by the authorities. A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service said the sentence reflects the severity of the offences and the need for public protection.
