Manhunt after sexual assaults on Hove seafront

Sussex Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a series of alleged sexual assaults targeted women who were exercising along the Hove seafront.

CCTV Image Released in Public Appeal

Authorities have taken the significant step of releasing CCTV footage of a man they are desperate to question. The incidents are reported to have occurred on Hove Lawns and in the surrounding areas of East Sussex.

The suspect is described as a bald man, believed to be in his 40s. A key distinguishing feature is that he is understood to speak with either a Spanish or Italian accent.

Modus Operandi and Victim Targeting

According to police reports, the man typically approaches his victims while they are exercising or are taking a rest from their workout. These encounters have taken place during the early morning, between 4.30am and 9.30am.

The suspect, who often wears exercise clothing, is reported to have spoken to the women before allegedly carrying out a sexual assault over their clothing.

Police Investigation and Public Urgency

The investigation is being treated with the utmost seriousness by Sussex Police. The release of the CCTV image underscores the urgency of the situation and the force's desire to identify the individual quickly to prevent further offences.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the man in the footage, or who has any information about the incidents, to come forward immediately. The safety of the public, particularly those using the popular seafront area for recreation, is a paramount concern.
