Man Shot in Liverpool Cafe, Armed Police Swarm Area

A man is in hospital after being shot in a cafe in Liverpool. Police swarmed the Bala Bs Soul Food Kitchen on Lodge Lane in Toxteth after receiving reports of gunfire at around 5pm on Friday.

Merseyside Police confirmed in a statement that armed units were deployed to the venue after the shooting incident, with Lodge Lane subsequently sealed off between Bentley Road and Seacole Close.

The man sustained one gunshot wound that is not believed to be life-threatening, the force said. He is receiving treatment at hospital.

A stop search order is now in place until 6.59pm when it will be further reviewed. It covers Upper Parliament Street, Smithtown Road, Greenbank Road, North Mossley Hill Road, Queens Drive, Aigburth Vale, Carnatic Road, Victoria Road, Ashfield Road, Aigburth Road, Park Road, Park Place and St James Place.
