Simon Headley, 51, of Neath Road, Resolven, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, July 21, charged with sexual assault by touching. The alleged incident occurred at Retro bar on Mill Lane in June 2025.
Wearing a navy blue suit with a navy tie and white shirt, Headley pleaded not guilty to sexual assault. He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
Investigation and arrest
South Wales Police confirmed that initial enquiries in summer and autumn 2025 did not identify a suspect, despite sharing a now-deleted appeal for information. Months later, a woman urged the public to come forward. Headley was arrested in January 2026.
The case has been adjourned until August 17 for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Cardiff Crown Court. Headley remains on conditional bail.
