Brutal Murder Shocks Dartford Community
A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of a sleeping woman at his mother's home in Dartford, Kent. Ernestas Juska showed chilling calmness after savagely attacking 39-year-old Nina Denisova on August 17, 2024, before casually confessing to police that he had "just killed someone."
Disturbing Details of the Attack
The court heard how Juska, who had been drinking and taking cocaine, decided he "wanted to kill someone" after an evening socialising with his mother and family friends, including Ms Denisova. In what the judge described as an act of "unspeakable depravity," Juska roamed the house around 6am looking for a weapon, eventually selecting the largest kitchen knife he could find.
He then entered the spare bedroom where Ms Denisova was sleeping and stabbed her in the neck. As the victim struggled, Juska put his hands over her mouth before stabbing her through both eyes, in the stomach and chest. In a further act of horror, he then attempted to have sex with her corpse, later telling police he wanted to "see what it felt like" and admitting he "wasn't proud of it."
Chilling Aftermath and Arrest
Following the murder, Juska left the property and walked to a nearby bus stop, where he calmly asked a member of the public to call police. Bodycam footage showed him sitting cross-legged on the pavement, telling officers: "I killed someone. A friend of my mum's." He displayed no emotion during his arrest or when informed that his victim had died.
Medical experts told Maidstone Crown Court that Juska's consumption of violent pornography had an "extreme impact" on him. The judge, Mr Justice Dexter Dias KC, described him as a "deeply disturbed individual" responsible for an "extreme explosion of sexual and sadistic conduct."
Juska was jailed for life with a minimum term of 24 years and seven months after admitting murder and committing a sexual offence against a deceased female. The judge noted that the defendant had been rebuffed by the victim years earlier when he was 16, but emphasised that this provided no justification for his actions.
Victim's Family Devastated
Ms Denisova's brother described her as a very calm and positive person who had arrived in the UK from Lithuania in 2006. "We can never forgive him for what he's done and we will never be able to understand why he did what he did that sad day," he said in a statement.
Detective Sergeant Max Gregory said Juska's actions showed "a level of depravity which defies belief" and that his senseless brutality had devastated a family while taking away a much-loved daughter and sister. The investigation revealed that Juska had specifically chosen not to harm his mother or sister, instead targeting the sleeping guest in what the judge called a "particularly cruel and sadistic" attack.
