A 27-year-old man has been arrested following the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl in a lane in Coatbridge. The incident occurred near Blair Road and Auldhame Street at approximately 1am on Sunday, June 28.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Police Scotland confirmed that officers were called to the scene after the teenager was approached by a man and sexually assaulted in the lane. An appeal for information was released later that day. On July 6, police announced that a 27-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector Lorraine Wilson stated: “Incidents of this nature can cause a great deal of concern and officers are continuing to engage with the local community to provide reassurance. We would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public for their support during this investigation.”
