Police have arrested a 29-year-old man after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Aldershot, Hampshire, leaving her with a broken finger.
Officers were called at around 11.30pm on Saturday, July 11, to reports that a woman in her 30s had been approached on Alison’s Road. Hampshire Police said the man allegedly kissed the woman, pulled her hair and punched her in the chest before she was able to run away.
Woman taken to hospital
The woman was later taken to hospital for treatment. She is believed to have suffered a broken finger, a concussion, bruising and scratches.
Hampshire Police confirmed that a 29-year-old man from Aldershot was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a female and wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent. The man has been bailed.
Witness appeal
Police have asked for any witnesses to come forward with information. The force said: “To help with our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time mentioned above.
