A high school teacher from Sydney's eastern suburbs has been arrested and charged over an alleged plot to sexually assault two children known to him.
Dawn Raid and Arrest in Bondi
Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad arrested the 63-year-old man at his home in Bondi around 8am on Wednesday. He was led from the property in handcuffs and taken to Surry Hills Police Station for processing.
Serious Charges Laid
The educator now faces two serious charges. These are for inciting the commission of an aggravated sexual assault by an offender in company, and for using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Connection to Earlier Arrest
This arrest is directly linked to the earlier apprehension of a 35-year-old man in the nearby suburb of Randwick in September. Police allege they uncovered communications between the two men from June 2024 to July 2025, discussing plans for the alleged sexual assaults.
As part of their investigation, detectives seized three mobile phones for forensic examination. The younger man has already been charged with serious child sexual assault offences, with his case still progressing through the courts.
The swift action by the Child Abuse Squad highlights the ongoing efforts by authorities to target individuals involved in the planning and solicitation of horrific crimes against children.
