A horrific crime in northern India has resulted in the death of a six-year-old girl, who police allege was gang-raped and thrown from a rooftop. The incident has provoked widespread outrage and led to a violent confrontation with the suspects.
Police Shootout Leads to Arrests
According to officials, the tragedy occurred in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. The young victim was rushed to a local hospital after the attack but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The victim's father filed an official complaint, prompting police to form three special teams to track down the suspects. The pursuit culminated in the Sikandrabad industrial area, where a brief shootout took place.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Tejveer Singh stated that the accused, identified as Raju and Veeru, opened fire when officers tried to intercept them. Police returned fire, injuring both suspects in the legs. They were subsequently taken to hospital for treatment. Officers recovered two firearms and ammunition from the scene.
