Delivery Driver Faces Serious Charges After Controversial Incident
A 23-year-old DoorDash delivery driver has been arrested in New York after allegedly filming an unconscious male customer who was naked and then sharing the footage on social media.
Olivia Henderson was taken into custody on November 10 after reporting that she had been sexually assaulted by an unknown customer while delivering an order to a home in Oswego on October 12. The town is located approximately 45 minutes from Syracuse.
The Alleged Incident and Social Media Fallout
According to Henderson, who documented the events in multiple TikTok videos, when she arrived at the man's residence, his front door was wide open and he was indecently exposed. She claimed the customer was sleeping on the couch within direct view of the entrance with his pants and underwear pulled down to his ankles.
The young woman proceeded to record video of the naked man and posted it on social media platforms. The following morning, on October 13, Henderson formally reported to the Oswego Police Department that she had been sexually assaulted during the delivery incident.
However, when authorities investigated her claims, they found no evidence supporting the allegation of sexual assault. Police reviewed the footage Henderson had taken and determined the customer appeared to be incapacitated and unconscious on his couch due to alcohol consumption.
Investigators also established that the video was recorded from outside the man's home, contrary to some initial reports.
Consequences and Criminal Charges
Prior to her arrest, Henderson repeatedly asserted she was the victim in this situation. In a TikTok video posted on October 15, she emotionally stated: "I was assaulted, I'm the victim. I lost my job, I'm the victim, right? Is this making sense to any f***ing body?"
Both Henderson and the male customer were subsequently banned from the DoorDash platform. Henderson claimed the company provided no reason for her deactivation and failed to send the customary email notification.
In a statement issued on October 16, a DoorDash spokesperson clarified their position: "No one should ever have to experience sexual assault, harassment, or abuse, and DoorDash never deactivates someone for reporting it - full stop."
The company explained that while they encourage drivers to report unsafe experiences, posting video of a customer in their home and disclosing personal details publicly represents a clear violation of their policies.
Henderson now faces two felony charges: one count of unlawful surveillance in the second degree and one count of dissemination of an unlawful surveillance image in the first degree.
She has been released from custody and was issued a court appearance ticket requiring her to return on December 4. The Oswego Police Department confirmed they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are in communication with the Oswego County District Attorney's Office regarding prosecution of the charges.
According to police statements, the male customer provided a statement and cooperated fully with authorities during the investigation.
