A serving Durham Constabulary officer has been charged with child sex offences. Haydyn Brunsdon faces two counts of sexual communication with a child.
Arrest and court appearance
The 31-year-old police constable was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning, September 25, and taken into police custody. He appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning.
Brunsdon was released on bail by the court and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court next week.
Suspension from duty
He has been suspended from duty while a criminal investigation is carried out.
