A delivery driver hugged and tried to kiss a woman as he handed over a parcel in Hexham, a court has heard. Patrick Yugire, 64, of Ryal Walk, Kenton, Newcastle, admitted the offence at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this week.
The incident took place on November 2 2025, while Yugire was working as a delivery driver. Jade Houston, prosecuting, confirmed the matter involved Yugire hugging and attempting to kiss the victim. No further details were read out during the brief hearing.
Case Adjourned for Sentencing
District Judge Paul Currer adjourned the case for sentence, when the full facts and mitigation will be heard. He told Yugire: "Before you're sentenced, I need you to be interviewed by the Probation Service and they need to write a report about you."
"I'm going to adjourn your case so that can be done. You will next appear back here on December 2 at 2pm. Should you fail to attend, you potentially commit an offence under the Bail Act, so, please return."
Bail Granted
In the meantime, Yugire was released on unconditional bail.
