A Connecticut couple who were arrested in July for allegedly performing a sexual act in front of children on a JetBlue flight have had criminal charges dropped. Trista L. Reilly, 43, and Christopher D. Arnold, 42, from Danbury, were taken into custody after their plane landed in Florida, arriving from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The pair had each been charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition in the presence of minors, a felony in Florida. However, authorities in Florida dropped the charges last week for undisclosed reasons, according to The Mercury News.
Court documents state that a mother travelling with her two children on JetBlue Flight 163 on July 19 alerted a flight attendant, who then observed Reilly 'face down on Mr Arnold's lap'. Crew members subsequently contacted law enforcement. The couple were arrested at 11.30am shortly after landing and were later released on their own recognizance, pleading not guilty in August.
JetBlue described the alleged behaviour as 'completely unacceptable' and stated that the customers are no longer welcome to fly with the airline. The company said: 'Immediately upon receiving the report, our crewmembers acted swiftly to engage JetBlue’s security team and law enforcement. We are fully cooperating with the investigation.'
