Christian influencer accused of sexually abusing kids on missionary trips

An influencer has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing children and is now facing up to 30 years behind bars.

Maylon Foshee has been charged with engaging in illicit sexual conduct with minors in a foreign country during his missionary trips. The 23-year-old has over 100,000 followers and dedicates his content to his Christian missionary work.

Charges and investigation

The US Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana alongside the FBI secured a federal criminal complaint in order to arrest him. Foshee, from Mansfield, Louisiana, reportedly travelled to Haiti numerous times between 2023 and 2026.

The man was working with a ministry organisation in Gonaives, a coastal city in Haiti. During that time, he allegedly engaged in illicit sexual conduct with several child victims under his care. This included minors who resided with him or received financial support from the missionary.

Victim interviews

Three minors were interviewed by investigators in August, where the victims described incidents of alleged sexual abuse. The alleged incidents took place while Foshee housed or supervised them in Haiti.

Zachary A. Keller, US Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, announced the charges with Assistant US Attorney Cheyenne Y. Wilson and Legal Assistant Amanda Morgan as the prosecution.

Prosecutor's statement

Zachary A. Keller said: "Protecting children from sexual abuse wherever it occurs is one of this administration's highest priorities, and identifying, investigating, and prosecuting child predators in our Louisiana communities lies at the heart of our office's mission to keep our communities safe.

"Our office thanks the FBI for its phenomenal investigative work and looks forward to seeing justice done in this significant case."
