Carole Malone's Furious GB News Rant Over Migrant Rape Case
Carole Malone Furious GB News Rant Over Migrant Rape

Carole Malone issued a furious tirade during a Monday appearance on GB News, expressing outrage over the case of an illegal migrant convicted of rape. The journalist joined Patrick Christys Tonight to discuss illegal migration into the UK, following the conviction of Bruke Desalagne, an Eritrean native found guilty of raping a man in his 60s outside a church in Harrow, London.

Outrage Over the Attack

As Patrick branded the incident "one of the worst illegal migrant stories I've heard," Carole agreed: "Me too, and yet there'll be so many people out there saying diversity is our strength." The 71-year-old continued: "It's one of the most disgusting, upsetting, vile things I've ever heard. The gentleman was very elderly; we believe he might have been intoxicated, but that made him all the more vulnerable, made him easier prey."

Carole told the host: "This guy came here illegally, he's now going to go to prison. What I found astonishing is that it took the jury two hours to convict him, and he's not going to be sentenced until autumn."

Demands for Deportation

Carole fumed: "And then he's going to go to jail and be probably looked after better than he ever looked after himself outside and we're going to have to take care of him for the next seven to 10 years and pay for all his bills." As the GB News star questioned: "Why?" she continued: "The guy shouldn't be allowed to stay, and two, he should be deported. We know that a lot of these illegal migrants are coming to this country, we know that there are some cultures that are more prone to this."

She added: "If this guy was in his homeland in Eritrea, he would probably be killed. Homosexuality, man-to-man sex in Eritrea is banned completely; it's a big criminal offence there." She also stated: "It's not just the politicians that are to blame for this, it's the judges, it's the lawyers, it's the human rights people who are campaigning to let people like this stay."

Details of the Crime

It has been reported that the 33-year-old dragged the elderly man behind a billboard at St John's Church in Harrow, north London, in an attempt to conceal his actions, but a witness saw some of the 20-minute assault from her window and contacted the police. A jury at Harrow Crown Court found Desalagne guilty of rape after viewing CCTV of the prolonged attack, which also showed cars and a double-decker London bus passing close to the scene. He will be sentenced in the autumn.

The assault, which took place on a grass verge outside the church at around midnight on July 23 last year, was also partially captured by a witness on her phone, and she later handed this to the police. Officers arrived within five minutes of being called to find Desalagne standing beside the Church sign, with the victim lying behind it.

Det Con Luke Revill, of the Metropolitan Police, stated: "Bruke Desalagne is a dangerous offender who targeted a defenceless, vulnerable, elderly man. Thanks to members of the public alerting the police, he was arrested at the scene, charged the following day and remanded by the courts. We are committed to bringing sexual predators like Desalagne to justice. We would urge anyone who has been the victim of similar offending to get in touch with the police. You will be supported and listened to by officers."
