Boy, 13, Sexually Assaulted at Liverpool Bus Stop

A 13-year-old schoolboy has been sexually assaulted at a bus stop in Liverpool, prompting a police manhunt for the suspect.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:50 AM on Friday, June 19, at a bus stop on Utting Avenue in the Norris Green suburb. According to Merseyside Police, a man approached the teenager and engaged him in conversation before touching him inappropriately.

The victim left the bus stop in shock and returned home. Officers have conducted a search of the area and are looking for a suspect described as a white man, aged around 65, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with short grey hair and a southern accent. He was wearing black shorts and a grey T-shirt.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Inspector Joe Rea stated: "I would like to reassure the public that incidents such as this are rare, and we are taking this incident extremely seriously. The victim was very shocked and understandably very distressed."

Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out, and investigations continue. Detective Inspector Rea urged anyone in the area of Utting Avenue between 7:45 AM and 8:15 AM to contact police. He also asked motorists to check dashcam footage for any sighting of a man matching the description.
