UK Adult Star Annie Charlotte, 27, Quits Porn Over Love Search Struggles
Annie Charlotte quits adult film over search for love

Annie Charlotte, a 27-year-old adult content creator based in the UK, has announced she is stepping away from the adult film industry, despite having built a lucrative career capitalising on her unique medical condition.

The Decision to Leave a Lucrative Career

Charlotte, who was born with a condition called uterus didelphys, has earned thousands by creating explicit videos. The rare anatomical condition means she has two vaginas, two uteruses, two cervixes, and one ovary on each side. However, she now states that the profession has jeopardised her personal life and her quest for love.

"I'm 27 and I want someone to love me, and I want to be happy," Charlotte revealed in an interview. She expressed that constant online criticism convinced her she would never find happiness or a partner if she remained in mainstream pornography. "Everyone online tells me that I'm never going to be happy if I stick to this job... and no man is ever going to want to be with me if I do it," she explained.

The Impact on Personal Relationships

While she still enjoys creating content for her supporters, Charlotte says she can no longer endure the negativity. Her foray into filming with other performers was brief, lasting only about a year after she was inspired by the Adult Video News Awards, which she describes as 'the Oscars of porn'.

A pivotal moment came when a potential romantic partner ended the relationship upon discovering the scale of her online presence. "He realised he was not okay with my job," Charlotte recalled. "He turned around to me and said: 'Open Twitter, you're just all over it.' He couldn't handle seeing everything."

She also grew disillusioned with men in the industry, feeling they either disrespected her or secretly viewed her as "dirty and disgusting." Furthermore, she laments that her medical condition inherently sexualises new relationships. "I feel like because of my condition the first thing that is spoken about is sex, and sometimes I just want someone to get to know me," she said.

Understanding Uterus Didelphys

Charlotte was diagnosed with uterus didelphys as a teenager during a procedure to fit a contraceptive coil. The condition, which affects an estimated one in 3,000 women, occurs when two ducts that typically fuse to form one uterus remain separate.

Many women are unaware they have it, as symptoms are not always present. Potential signs can include:

  • Pain during intercourse
  • Exceptionally heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Recurrent miscarriages
  • Preterm labour

While surgery to unite the two structures is possible, it is generally only recommended for severe cases, as it can improve the chances of carrying a pregnancy to term.

Despite the challenges, Annie Charlotte remains hopeful about finding a genuine connection. She is looking for a partner who is "sweet and caring," loves her for who she is, and, she jokes, is willing to play video games with her. "It really sucks to be 27 and never have been in love," she confessed, "and I really want to give it a go."
