13-Year-Old Gang Raped After Abduction from Bus Stop in India

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped after being abducted from a bus stop in the Bhojpur district of Bihar, India. Police have arrested one suspect and are searching for three others.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon (June 14) when the victim was waiting at a bus stop. An SUV pulled up, and four youths allegedly dragged her inside before driving to a secluded forested area. There, she was gang raped and left unconscious as the suspects fled.

The girl managed to return home and was taken to the district hospital in Ara for treatment. Her family reported the attack to police, and the victim identified one suspect, leading to the arrest of Santu Kumar, a resident of Basidihri village, within 24 hours.

Subodh Kumar, a Sahar police officer, stated: 'The incident occurred at around 5 pm on Sunday. We registered an FIR against one named and three unnamed accused, and sent our teams to nab them. We have managed to arrest one of them within 24 hours of the crime.'

Police believe they know the identities of the remaining three attackers and are urging the public for information to help locate them. The Bhojpur district has a population of approximately 2.7 million and is located about 53 kilometers west of Patna, the state capital.
