Drink-driver told police to 'stick it up your a***' before jail term
Drink-driver's foul rant leads to 15-month jail term

A suspected drink-driver who told police to "stick it up your a***" during a foul-mouthed rant has been jailed for 15 months. Gabriella Federico, 42, refused a breath test but later gave a roadside sample showing she was more than seven times the legal limit outside a Texaco petrol station in Caerphilly.

Refusal to provide sample

Federico avoided a drink-driving charge after refusing to provide a further sample at the police station. Bodycam footage shows her insisting she was not the driver and attempting to blame her male passenger instead.

In the footage she tells officers: "I swear to God I've not been driving. Stick it up your a***! Check your cameras!" One of the officers then warns her: "If you refuse, Gabriella, then you'll be charged." To which she replies: "I don't give a f***. I haven't done nothing."

Court sentencing

Federico was jailed after pleading guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis. The offence, on Monday, April 6, put her in breach of a suspended 14-month prison sentence from January 2025 for possession of a bladed article in public and criminal damage.

She was sentenced for the latest offences on September 30 at Newport Crown Court, which also included a harassment charge against a woman between May 21 and June 19. She was jailed for a total of 15 months and banned from driving for four and a half years.
