British rapper and social media personality Yung Filly has gone on trial in Australia, accused of sexually assaulting a fan who attended his performance in Perth. The 30-year-old, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, faces six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of impeding someone's normal breathing. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Details of the Alleged Incident
The court heard that Barrientos had consensual sex with the then-20-year-old woman in September 2024, but the encounter allegedly turned non-consensual. Prosecutor Danielle Clarke told the court that the woman, a big fan who called Barrientos her 'celebrity crush,' recorded a video saying she 'loved Yung Filly and wanted him to be her future husband.' On the night of the incident, she was invited into the VIP lounge and approached by Barrientos.
The woman testified that she had 'four or six shots' of free tequila provided by the bar but 'knew what I was doing.' At the venue, Barrientos allegedly put his hand down her underwear, to which she responded, 'I'm not like that.' He reportedly replied, 'It really shows your age,' and told her, 'you're coming home with me tonight.'
Alleged Assault in Hotel Room
The woman left the party with Barrientos's all-male entourage around 3am, believing they were heading to an after-party. Instead, they arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel on Hay Street, where his bodyguard allegedly took her phone before they entered the hotel room. Prosecutor Clarke stated that while the initial sexual encounter was consensual, the woman asked Barrientos to stop biting her, but he continued. He allegedly told her to stop talking, slapped her, and bit her even harder. One bite broke the skin on her breast, requiring a tetanus shot at the hospital later.
The jury heard that Barrientos held his hands around her neck 'tightly' for several seconds, telling her to say 'derogatory things.' The woman refused and began to cry. Clarke said: 'She didn't know how to get herself out of the situation and decided to do what the accused wanted.' Barrientos then allegedly raped her multiple times, including anally, before ordering a burger through room service. As she was leaving, he reportedly told his minder that she was 'not good in bed' and grabbed her breast, asking, 'How good are her boobs?'
Aftermath and Trial
The woman reported the incident to police the following day and took photos of her injuries that morning. Defence lawyer David Edwardson did not give an opening statement. The trial is expected to run over the next two weeks.
