Greater Manchester Police have issued a warning that a wanted man who allegedly escaped from lawful custody in England has links to Glasgow. Officers are urging the public not to approach 25-year-old Muiz Olatunji if he is spotted.
Details of the Escape
Police launched an urgent appeal on Sunday after Olatunji, who is of no fixed abode but from Salford, escaped custody. He is described as a Black man of medium build with black Afro hair, standing around 5ft 10in tall. Officers believe he boarded a bus opposite The Royal Sovereign pub in Salford at approximately 6.14pm on Saturday, June 27.
Olatunji has links to Glasgow and elsewhere in Scotland, as well as Greater Manchester. Detectives are urgently trying to trace him and are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Previous Charges
Earlier this year, Olatunji was charged with assault offences after three custody officers and members of staff were allegedly attacked on New Year's Day. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned about his wellbeing. The public are asked not to approach Olatunji. If you see him, please call us on 101, or in an emergency always call 999."
