Dyfed-Powys Police have issued an update on an attempted murder investigation after a man turned up at a hospital with serious injuries. Four people were initially arrested, but two have since been released with no further action.
Incident and Police Response
Hospital staff contacted police in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a man arrived with serious injuries. Officers attended and, following initial inquiries, suspected an assault had occurred at an address on Brynmeurig in Carmarthen. A police cordon was put in place while investigations into the circumstances continued.
Update on Victim and Arrests
On Friday, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the man has since been discharged from hospital. A 35-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from the Carmarthen area, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released on conditional bail. A 49-year-old woman from Carmarthen and a 40-year-old man from Ammanford, also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, have been released with no further action. No charges have been filed at this stage.
Investigation Ongoing
The police have stated that the investigation remains ongoing. They continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
