Two teenagers have been charged with attempted robbery after a man was allegedly subjected to racial abuse in Prescot while returning home from work. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 PM on Wednesday, June 3, when the victim was cycling along Garden Walk. A group of youths riding electric bikes approached him, allegedly shouting racial slurs and making threats. The situation escalated when one of the suspects kicked his bicycle, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain minor grazes.
Charges and legal proceedings
A 14-year-old boy from Huyton, who cannot be named due to legal restrictions, has been charged with attempted robbery. Another 14-year-old, from St Helens, has also been charged with the same offense. Both are scheduled to appear at Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday, June 9. A third boy, also aged 14, remains on conditional bail while police continue their investigations.
