Mark Lord, 63, appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday (October 9) charged with the murder of his 94-year-old father Allan Lord.
The charge follows police being called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man at a property on Bryngs Drive in Harwood, Bolton, at around 11.35am on Wednesday (October 7).

Wearing a blue jumper, Mr Lord spoke in court to confirm his name, age and address.
Next hearing
Mr Lord has been remanded in custody and will appear at Bolton Crown Court on Monday, October 12.
