Florida Nurse Loses Licence After Sexually Assaulting Teenage Stepson
Nurse's Licence Revoked After Stepson Assault

A Florida nurse has had her professional licence permanently revoked and is facing a lengthy prison sentence after being caught sexually assaulting her 15-year-old stepson by the boy's own father.

Licence Revoked and Marriage Ended

Alexis Von Yates, 35, saw her nursing licence formally removed by the state Board of Nursing last month following a disciplinary hearing. The health officials stated her actions fell "below agreed standards of good moral character," leading to an initial suspension order in April. The final order, issued after a meeting in October where Yates did not dispute the allegations, seals the end of her nursing career.

In a parallel personal collapse, The Daily Mail revealed that her marriage to the victim's father, Frank, has ended in divorce. The couple split after the horrific incident came to light.

The Night of the Assault

The charges stem from a disturbing incident in July 2024, while the teenager was visiting his father, stepmother, and younger siblings in Ocala. According to police reports and court documents, the evening began with the pair vaping cannabis oil and watching a movie while Frank was at work.

The boy, who told investigators he was a virgin, described how Von Yates initiated sexual contact. She reportedly commented on his resemblance to her husband and made inappropriate jokes prior to the assault. She then told the teenager "how horny" she was, claiming she had not had sex for two weeks.

The situation escalated to oral sex and intercourse without a condom. The assault continued even after they heard the garage door open, signalling Frank's return home. The lineman walked in to find his wife raping his son, shouting "What the f**k is going on?" before throwing objects and calling her a "child predator." The teen fled to the bathroom with his pants around his ankles.

Legal Consequences and Emotional Fallout

Initially charged with sexual battery on a person aged 12 to 18, Von Yates ultimately accepted a plea deal. In September, she was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading no contest to a charge of lewd and lascivious battery.

Her sentence does not end upon release. She must also serve two years of community control, followed by ten years of sex offender probation, and is required to register as a sex offender.

During her sentencing, Von Yates appeared stony-faced and refused to address the court. The victim's mother, however, delivered a powerful statement, labelling the former nurse a "coward" and an "incestuous paedophile." She said the actions had made her "ill" and accused Yates of having "systemically manipulated, groomed, and sexually abused a child."

The case serves as a stark reminder of the severe professional and personal consequences for those who betray positions of trust and commit such grievous offences.
