Police remain at the scene in Ballymena, Co Antrim, after three family members were found dead inside a property on Monday morning. A murder investigation has been launched, and authorities have confirmed that the victims were related.
Details of the Discovery
The bodies were discovered at a house on the Old Cullybackey Road at around 9am on Monday. Superintendent William Calderwood, Mid and East Antrim District Commander, stated that the deceased include a male and two females. Formal identification and post-mortem examinations are pending.
Police Assurance and Scene
Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing risk and that they are not seeking any other individuals in connection with the deaths. On Tuesday morning, police tape remained around the property, with toys visible outside and a pair of pink and blue child's sandals drying on a washing line.
Appeal for Calm
Superintendent Calderwood urged the public to avoid speculation, saying, "The cause of death has not yet been formally established and post-mortem examinations will take place in due course. As such, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
