Nevada mum's chilling Google searches revealed as 5-year-old daughter died in locked box
Mum's Google searches as daughter, 5, died in locked box

A mother from Nevada has been charged with first-degree murder over the death of her five-year-old daughter, who prosecutors allege was subjected to a campaign of starvation and beatings before dying in horrific conditions.

Chilling Evidence of Neglect

Andrea Loving, alongside the child's father Nicholas Loving, is accused of participating in the "daily mistreatment" of their daughter Izabella. Court documents obtained by local news outlet KRNV detail a harrowing case of neglect and abuse, culminating in the girl's death in April.

Instead of seeking medical attention for her clearly ailing child, Andrea Loving allegedly turned to the internet. Prosecutors state she made a series of chilling Google searches, including phrases like "signs my child is dying", "how long can you go without food", "kidneys failing", and "my five year old is peeing blood".

A Life of Cruelty and Confinement

Izabella's short life was marked by extreme cruelty. According to a police affidavit, she was fed only a single piece of bread for daily nutrition while food was kept away from her. In a stark contrast to her siblings, who slept in a "nice, Queen-sized bed", Izabella was forced to sleep in a locked, makeshift box at the family's home in Cold Springs.

The abuse was also violently physical. The affidavit alleges Nicholas Loving kicked and beat the little girl "more times than she could count" before her death. When she was found unconscious on April 3, Izabella bore the signs of extensive trauma.

A subsequent examination revealed 10 injuries on her face alone, including a black eye and a gash over her eye, alongside wounds on her hips, pelvis, arms, and groin. The official cause of death was bacterial pneumonia, compounded by multiple blunt force injuries, severe malnutrition, dehydration, and medical neglect.

Justice for Izzy

Andrea Loving was initially charged with child abuse resulting in substantial bodily harm following a police interview on July 28. During that interview, she reportedly stated, "I should go to jail for not helping her and Nick should go to jail for killing her."

However, based on further evidence and investigation, Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks has now elevated the charge to first-degree murder. Nicholas Loving also faces murder charges.

In a statement, DA Hicks said, "The loss of Izabella Loving continues to weigh heavily on our community... These filings represent careful, deliberate decisions based on the evidence and our obligation to seek justice on Izzy’s behalf." He assured the public that the case remains an active priority for his office.

The tragic case has deeply affected the local community, with toys and tributes left in memory of Izabella. The court proceedings will continue as prosecutors work to hold both parents accountable for their alleged roles in the young girl's suffering and death.
