Police are urging the public to call 999 if they see a drug dealer who escaped from prison by climbing a fence. Oliver Mazirel is wanted after fleeing HMP Ford near Arundel in Sussex on the night of June 30.
The 38-year-old was serving a sentence for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs said two men, aged 35 and 38, from Worthing have been arrested on suspicion of assisting Mazirel after his escape. Authorities are also looking for a third person believed to have helped him.
Consequences of assisting a fugitive
Jacobs stated: 'We intend to return Mazirel to prison and I want to make it very clear as to the consequences of assisting someone who remains at large. It is a serious offence that carries a prison sentence of up to ten years.'
Mazirel is described as 5'7" with short light brown hair. CCTV footage shows him just before he escaped from lawful custody.
Public urged to come forward
DI Jacobs added: 'I am urging the public to come forward with information, however small, that could help us in our search for Mazirel. Mazirel has links to Worthing and Littlehampton. Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts is urged to dial 999 immediately, quoting Operation Patch.'
